On a sunny hillside just a few minutes from the little town of Propriano,
Villa René is a well proportioned villa that occupies a quite position at the edge of this well maintained
residential development.
Surrounded by fragrant Oleander bushes, the main door opens on to the hallway decorated in white stucco. All the
rooms lead from this hallway. To the left is the separate kitchen where there is a full cooker and washing machine,
and a window overlooking the terrace. The main living is a large room comprising a dining area with a lovely wooden
sideboard and large banquet style dining table with benches. There is also a comfortable seating area with leather
sofa, fireplace feature and a television. Two sets of French windows lead to the terrace with lovely views over
the surrounding gardens to the bay of Propriano and the mountains beyond. The terrace has been furnished with loungers
and a table and chairs for eating al fresco.
There are two bedrooms; the main double bedroom is at the end of the hallway and enjoys the same lovely views as
the terrace and main living/dining room. This room is furnished with two wooden bedside tables, an art-deco style
wooden dresser and mirror and traditional wooden armoire. The second bedroom is also traditional in style and is
located towards the front of the house. It has twin beds, making Villa René ideal for a family or even two
couples who want to holiday together.
Les Hameaux de Propriano is an attractive development, landscaped into the hillside above the town. The collection
of houses and apartments are scattered throughout the grounds, and surrounded with flowers and shrubs. There are
four swimming pools - one tucked away just below the house ( staggered opening between June to September), and
a tennis court for the use of residents and their guests.
The main town of Propriano is just a short 15 minute walk away so there is no need to worry about taking the car
if you want to enjoy a glass or two of the excellent local wines with dinner, and one of the superb sandy beaches
is just a little further, but there are lots of secluded coves and picturesque beaches stretching north of the
bay towards Cappiciolo, and south towards Campomoro.
In the area you can also enjoy all the usual water sports, bathe in river rock pools or relax in the hot springs
of Baracci, play tennis, go walking, horse-riding, diving, climbing, or take a train or boat trip. The more adventurous
can try a tandem u.l.m., canyoning, parachuting, climbing or jetskiing. There really is something for everyone!
Please note
that the pool is only guaranteed to be clean and open from 1 June until 30 September.
